Iron Edge is a saline energy food supplement designed for those who practise cross-country sports.
Its formulation was studied in collaboration with Trisport & Health, a team of triathletes dedicated to Iron Man and led by Prof. Camporese.
It is characterised by a mixture of sequential and complementary carbohydrates, capable of providing constant energy within a few minutes after its intake.
It has an excellent gastrointestinal tolerance and assimilation during sports activities.
The dosage of sodium, potassium and magnesium mineral salts and the balance of the chloride anion contained in the product refer to the relative concentration in litres of sweat during exercise in the summer season.
Iron Edge dissolved in water in the right dose produces an isotonic solution, which can easily go through the intestinal barrier and reach the bloodstream.
Interestingly, the presence of aroma is reduced in Iron Edge. In fact, the excessive presence of aromatic elements during intense physical activity can interact with the nervous system and alter the normal cellular metabolic balance.
The mixture of simple and complex carbohydrates is precisely balanced to “exploit” the assimilation potential to the maximum and guarantee a constant and functional energy supply to the active muscles at the endurance exercise rhythm.
Recent studies seem to confirm that gut training helps elite athletes to absorb up to 90-120 g of carbohydrates per hour, and that this dosage of carbohydrates is associated with optimal performance.
Iron Man is an extreme sport, and hence this type of approach could absolutely result in success.
Properties
Iron Edge is indicated as an energy and saline support in endurance sports.
Dissolve 30 g (equal to approximately level 2 scoops) in 500 ml of water per day and take depending on your needs. You will get an isotonic drink with an osmolarity of approximately 250 mOsm/l.
